Compare the unit of usage, not just the monthly price
Docusign describes sending and tracking agreements through eSignature and publishes plan allowances in envelopes. Docupacket uses packet credits. Those units are not interchangeable: review the number of files, pages, signers and sends your actual work requires before comparing costs.
Docupacket displays the exact credit usage before a packet is sent. One credit per packet. Unlimited files and pages on every plan. Upload limits: 20 MB per file and 100 MB per packet. Subscription charges are separate from packet-credit usage, and additional credits are not purchased automatically.
Test what happens when a signature is still pending
In Docupacket, sending holds the packet’s credits. They are consumed once at least one signer completes signing; the packet does not need to be fully completed. If nobody completes signing and the packet is voided or expires, the held credits are released, subject to their original expiration rules.
For example, a two-signer packet has already consumed its credits after the first signer completes. Voiding it while the second signer is pending does not return those credits. Ask every provider how its own usage policy handles the same scenario.
Evaluate your real document workflow
Use a fictional copy of a normal customer agreement for the first test. Check the following before switching a production workflow.
- Compare plan seats, included usage, packet page/file limits and additional-usage prices.
- Upload the document, place fields and check the signer preview on a phone.
- Test a packet with multiple signers and inspect individual signer status.
- Download a fully completed PDF and confirm your own recordkeeping process.
- Verify any integration, identity or regulatory requirements separately.
Where to start with Docupacket
Review the current public pricing page, then choose the features your team needs. Templates, bulk sending, Word uploads, API access and other capabilities depend on the plan. Do not assume feature parity or automatic migration of another provider’s templates.
Docupacket provides encryption at rest and in transit, audit trails and data retention controls. Evaluate those controls against your requirements.
Docupacket is not affiliated with or endorsed by Docusign. Product names identify the services being considered.
