If you are sending a PDF for signature
Start with a readable PDF and the intended recipients. Use a fictional test document when evaluating a new workflow.
- Upload the PDF to a new Docupacket packet. Check page order and readability.
- Add the signer details and place signature, initials, date and other required fields.
- Use signer preview to confirm the fields are assigned and positioned correctly.
- Review the exact credit usage before sending. Every packet uses one credit, regardless of file or page count. Upload limits are 20 MB per file and 100 MB per packet.
- Send the packet and follow each signer’s progress in Docupacket.
- After the entire packet is complete, download the completed PDF.
If you received a Docupacket signing request
Open the invitation link for your packet, review the document and complete the fields assigned to you. Follow the on-screen steps to finish signing. Recipients do not need to buy a Docupacket subscription to complete a request.
If a detail in the document is wrong or a field is missing, contact the sender before finishing. If the link has expired or the packet has been voided, ask the sender to review the packet status. Do not forward private signing links to other people.
Check the credit rule and the completion status separately
A packet consumes its held credits once at least one signer completes signing. That may happen before the entire packet is finished. Wait for full completion before expecting the finished PDF.
If nobody completes signing and the packet is voided or expires, held credits are released subject to their original expiration rules. A packet that is still pending can continue to hold credits.
Avoid common preparation problems
Make sure the PDF is the intended version, every signature field belongs to the correct recipient and the document remains readable on a smaller screen. A scanned page may look different from a text-based PDF; preview it rather than assuming automatic recognition.
Sending documents requires a Docupacket subscription. Review current plans, included capabilities, and introductory offer terms before creating a sender account.
