DocuPacket — Document signing made simple

Electronic signatures for small-business workflows

Small businesses often need a repeatable way to send the same types of customer paperwork. Start with one workflow and choose electronic signature software around the people, documents and follow-up steps it involves.

A customer agreement from start to finish

Consider a contractor sending a service agreement and a project-details form together. In Docupacket, those files can form one packet, subject to the plan’s limits. Add the customer and any other signers, assign fields and preview the packet before sending.

After sending, check each signer’s status rather than treating an opened email as a completed agreement. When the packet is fully complete, download its PDF and store it according to your business’s process. This example explains a workflow, not a guaranteed legal outcome.

Define your usage requirements

Write down the number of team members who send, the approximate number of packets in a normal month, the workload in a busy month and the largest typical file/page bundle. Use those figures to compare included credits and additional-credit rates.

Docupacket shows exact credit usage before sending. One credit per packet. Unlimited files and pages on every plan. Upload limits: 20 MB per file and 100 MB per packet. Five credits should not be treated as a guarantee of five packets of any size.

Account for uneven demand

On Standard, Standard Plus and Pro, unused included monthly credits roll over for 12 months from issuance. Individual’s included monthly credits do not use that rollover rule. Review the age of credits as well as the balance.

Sending holds credits; at least one signer completing signing consumes them. If nobody completes signing and the packet is voided or expires, the hold is released subject to original credit expiration. Docupacket does not automatically purchase additional credits, while subscription renewal follows your plan’s billing terms.

Make the process repeatable

Assign responsibility for each step so the workflow remains clear as your team grows.

  1. Keep the approved source file in an agreed location and check the version.
  2. Decide who prepares the packet and who checks signer details.
  3. Use templates or saved files when available in your plan, and preview each packet.
  4. Decide when to follow up on pending packets and when to void an obsolete one.
  5. Keep completed PDFs in the business’s chosen records process.

Compare the credit math for your service business

Start with the membership fee. Subtract the included usable allowance from the credits needed for your planned sends; multiply any remaining credits by the extra-credit price, then add that to the membership fee. A negative remainder means no extra credits are needed.

For example, if a plan costs $29 per month, includes 10 usable credits for one joined user and sells extras at $4, a workload costing 12 credits totals $37: $29 + (12 - 10) x $4. These are an illustration of Standard terms reviewed October 16, 2026; the live pricing page is authoritative. Additional joined users, discounts, existing credits and purchase minimums can change the result.

Compare that total with another provider using the same sender count, term and workload. Per-seat charges, unlimited-request packages and packet credits measure different things. Do not equate a packet with an envelope or signature request without checking both definitions.
